Shane Fleenor

Shane’s practice mirrors the lifecycle of high-growth companies – from entity formation, raising capital, and customer contracts, to day-to-day corporate blocking and tackling, and ultimately, mergers and acquisitions. While his typical client is a venture-backed software company, Shane represents businesses as varied as small solar developers, consumer products companies, and even publicly traded restaurant chains.

Shane spent his early career at several large law firms in New York City and Denver. Prior to joining Bold Legal, he practiced for over a decade at a boutique Denver firm specializing in advising early-stage “venture-track” businesses.

Shane also spent two years as co-founder of a fin-tech startup, so he knows what it’s like to own and operate a business. Working for sweat equity, raising capital, stressing over meeting payroll, even receiving legal bills – he’s been there. This experience from both sides of the table gives Shane a unique perspective on being a lawyer. He finds representing and advising entrepreneurs and fast-growing ventures to be the best of both worlds.

Shane received his JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School (2006), and his BA, with distinction, from the University of Virginia (2003), where he double-majored in Government and Philosophy.

Shane is boldly committed to spending as much time as he can in the mountains, where he loves to ski, backpack, road bike, hike and hunt. His wife is a better skier than he is. (She’s probably better than you too.) He also happens to have the world’s most awesome dog.

Shane is a music aficionado and Spotify addict and will boldly hijack the soundtrack to social gatherings. You might end up with Led Zeppelin or Guns n’ Roses, or 90s country, or something unexpected like Ledbelly or Townes van Zandt – depends on the day. He’s also a gear junkie – don’t get him started on the tech specs of outdoor equipment.
